I am preparing a presentation called “Local Social Magic” for my friends here in Orlando, Florida. I looked at the calendar and see that I have 21 days to prepare for my presentation. As I look at all the cool things that you can do with social media, I realize that there is no way that I can cram it all into an hour long presentation. So for the next few days, I am going to post a tip on social media that you can use. I will be talking exclusively about Local Social Media on February 20, 2015 but these tips can work on for your business whether you are local or global.
#1 – Social Media Challenge Tip ~ Specialize
Although it’s true that one has to have a good grasp of all the major social networks, specializing in one social network will help you achieve more Klout and traction for the particular niche interested in that network.
If most of your target market is on LinkedIn, you need to spend the majority of your time on LinkedIn. Same with all the other social networks.

Women Dominate all Social Media Platforms except One – LinkedIn.
The one social network that boasts more men is the professional-networking site LinkedIn. According to the infographic, 76 percent of U.S. adult women use Facebook, compared to only 66 percent of U.S. adult men. Meanwhile, 30 percent of women check their social media outlets multiple times per day, compared to 26 percent of men.
A greater percentage of adult U.S. women use Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter than their male counterparts. The one social network that boasts more men is the professional-networking site LinkedIn.

If You Want to Look at the Social Media Age Range of Users, Check out these Stats from the Pew Research Center:
“For the first time, more than half of all online adults 65 and older (56%) use Facebook. This represents 31% of all seniors.”
The highest group of Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram Users is between the ages of 18-29.
The highest group of LinkedIn Users is between 30 – 49 at 31% but the next age group of 50 to 64 is at 30%.
